Bush Protested in Dallas

On Sunday evening, March 7, 2004, activists in Dallas learned that GW Bush would be raising funds at a luncheon at the Fairmont Hotel downtown. They quickly put out e-mail calling those who could get off work to a picket. They gathered on Akard and Ross, where they were closely watched by local and federal police. On the rooftop of the hotel were more armed men. They held a big banner that read, "Re$elect Bu$h?" Only about 30 were able to attend the anti-Bush rally, but they were joined during the lunch period by dozens of students from the Pegasus Charter school nearby.

Several times, hard-eyed rightwingers in dress clothes tried to provoke the protestors, but they did not succeed.
