Spirit of MLK in Fort Worth Strike

Dr Martin Luther King was working with striking sanitation workers in Memphis when he was murdered. Sanitation workers in Ft Worth spent their Christmas Day on strike against Allied Waste Corporation. The company is using scabs recruited from all over the nation in a clear effort to bust the union, which is one of the contracts held by mighty Teamsters Local 767, which set new highs for union solidarity during the UPS strike in 1997.

Activists should go by the picket line in Haltom City to let the strikers know that we are with them. People making plans for Martin Luther King Jr birthday activities might find ways to include the demands of these sanitation workers. For more info and directions to the picket line, see the local union's website: www.teamsterslocal767.com
